COMMUNITY RESPONSES FOR HEALTH: Issues and ideas for collaborative action
The inclusion of the commitment to universal health coverage (UHC) in the sustainable development goals (SDGs) provides an opportunity to ensure that the role community plays in the health response is fully understood and supported as a core ingredient to leaving no one behind. This reported, supported by ICASO and other Free Space Process (FSP) partners, builds on the exceptionally rich experience of community in the HIV response and makes the cases for a Global Framework on Community Responses for Health. The report is an important background document to help define community “asks” in lead up to the UHC high level meeting and subsequent evaluations of progress in meeting the SDGs.
